As part of its policy of constant renewal of the range of models and versions offered by the brand, joined Fiat Auto to supply the Argentine market a new version of the Punto, which features a new engine: the 1.6 16V SOHC, distinguished by their brilliant performance, excellent ride comfort, flexibility and fuel content and replaces the previous 1.8 8V engine.

With the addition of this new engine presented to the press in the last quarter of 2010 - the new version of the model, in line with the criteria for the rest of the range of models of the brand, now called Point Essence 1.6 16V, while the entry-model is known as Punto 1.4 8v Attractive.

Among the attributes recognized by the press, the new engine 1.6 16V highlights its performance in low and high speeds, power, reliability and fuel consumption.
